Have you noticed?

The quality of radio that is available in Cardiff has gone from ‘shockingly horrible to ‘absolutely don’t bother’.

This is the Capital City of Wales, the 12th biggest city in the UK. We should be spoilt for choice.

For years things were great. You either listened to Red Dragon FM or a BBC station. Red Dragon used to have roadshows, competitions, giveaways, Jase & Bobby.  Heck, if you go back far enough you might even remember laughing at something called Sharron Crubber. Then along came Crapital and things became even more about selling adverts and DJ’s who’s name you didn’t care about and could just as easily be replaced by a tree. Yes, a tree. Made of wood.

Ok, in recent times we’ve had an alternative in the guise of Real Radio (now owned by Capital and called Heart). We do have Radio Cardiff, if you happen to live within 0.5 miles of the city or own a massive aerial.

The alternative of course is the BBC. And that’s pretty much it.

What is local?

Cardiff is big place but it’s a friendly, vibrant place and a great city to live in. We’d like to invite you to be a part of Big Time Radio even if it’s just for a few seconds. You could send us a shout-out request and get your name on the radio or your friends, workmates etc.
If there is an event going on that you’d like us to mention then that is no problem at all. In fact, it’s what we’re here for. It’s engaging with the community and it would seem a lot of stations are ignoring this and more interested in commercials.

It’s time to have fun on the radio again. Big time.

Bringing local radio back to South Wales. Big Time.
